York Terrace overlooks the south side of Regent’s Park in Marylebone, City of Westminster, London, England. York Terrace West is a Grade I listed building. It consists of two separate Regency style terraced buildings, York Terrace East and York Terrace West, which are joined by York Gate (built 1813) which frames St Marylebone Parish Church. York Terrace is one of the park’s principal buildings.
HISTORY
The buildings were last in use as student accommodation, a private school for 3-8 year olds and a rotary club.June 2018 – Planning permission and listed building consent was granted for the use of buildings as 21 new dwellings; removal and replacement of roof, floors, non-original stairs; retention of all facades and spine walls; excavation of an additional basement beneath existing buildings and extending underneath the rear gardens facing Regents Park. This was subject to a legal agreement to secure the provision off 44 affordable units at Chesterfield Lodge as the off site affordable housing.
